| “...I
saw an oasis of tranquility and an ocean of
humanity. I saw a vibrant clinic buzzing with
activity and filled with mothers and their
children. I saw a beautiful old building steeped
in history commanding a strategic position within the
walls of the city of Jerusalem. An oasis to which
mothers can bring their children to drink from the sweet
care and kindness provided by an international staff... |
| I
met a Spanish nun who held and cuddled so gently the
little baby to soothe its fears before checking its
weight and giving the inoculation injection under the
watchful eyes of the anxious yet tranquil mother.
Tranquil because through the years they learned, as
their mothers before them, to trust in the care of the
Spafford clinic. |
| I
met the pharmacist, the social workers, the nurses and a
mother of a child being treated. They all had
stories to tell. Stories of kindness and hope
amidst the prevailing despair.” |

"Sameh joined Spafford Children's Center 1 1/2 years ago. He attended three sessions to improve his speech and language. Sameh benefited from the Center which helped him to adapt to his environment. My
feeling as a mother is that he has benefited from the sessions he has attended. I thank the ladies who helped him with everything he did not know before. I was not
expecting that he improves so fast. I repeat my thanks to Miss
Manal."

| "Think
I'll apply for a job - and she raised these
mothers - It just puts me to shame!
I'll bet
she could write a book- How wonderful she
is. She has a warmth like Barbara Bush. You don't have to
know them to feel it - What a staff." |
